Why it exists
If you've been a director, secretary, shareholder or person with significant control, your home address, signature, day of birth or occupation may be on documents anyone can download for free. Companies House lets you apply to remove them, but only document by document, and you have to find and list every one.
The application itself is a short form. Finding the documents is the hard part, especially old paper filings that were scanned as images. We built Address Erased to do that part properly, then handle the filing.
How our scans work
- We start from your name. We search Companies House's officer records, and you pick yourself from the people listed.
- We read every filing since 2003 for every company you've been part of, live or dissolved. Filings registered before 1 January 2003 can't be removed, so we don't charge for them.
- We read handwritten forms too. Typed documents are read directly. Scanned paper forms are read by text recognition, and an AI model provided by Anthropic reads the pages that need a closer look.
- We apply the Companies House rules to each document, so you only see details that can actually be removed.
- A person checks every application before it goes to Companies House.
How we handle your data
- Scan results only ever show the first part of a postcode, such as LS6.
- We only ask for your full address and date of birth when you order, because the application needs them.
- Copies of documents we download are deleted after 30 days, and scans that don't lead to an order after 90 days.
- We use our own analytics, not Google Analytics or any third party, and you can opt out.
- We never sell your data.
