Terms of service

These terms apply when you order a removal application through Address Erased. Address Erased is a service of Sidekick Accounting Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (no. 12250170) at 5th Floor, 167-169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF, and registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Address Erased is independent and not affiliated with Companies House.

The service

The scan is free. It checks documents on the public Companies House register and shows you which of them contain personal details that Companies House may let you remove.

When you order, we:

Companies House decides whether to remove your details. We can't guarantee the outcome or how long it takes. Companies House usually takes 2 to 6 weeks.

Your authority for us to act for you

By placing an order you authorise Sidekick Accounting Ltd to:

We pay the fee in your name and pass it on at cost, with no mark-up. You confirm this authority at checkout.

Prices, VAT and payment

Prices are per person: £69 for the first document and £49 for each additional document. Each price includes VAT where it applies and the Companies House fee.

Each document price has two parts:

First documentEach additional document
Companies House fee (disbursement, no VAT)£34.00£34.00
Our service fee (net)£29.17£12.50
VAT at 20% on our service fee£5.83£2.50
Total£69.00£49.00

The Companies House fee is a disbursement. We pay it as your agent, so it is outside the scope of VAT. VAT is charged on our service fee only, at the UK rate, for all customers wherever they live.

If Companies House changes its fee, our service fee changes so that the price you pay stays the same, unless we tell you otherwise before you order.

You pay in full at checkout by card through Stripe. You'll get a receipt by email and a VAT invoice showing each document as two lines. If you're buying for a business, give the business details at checkout and they'll appear on the invoice.

The registered office and director service address add-on costs £240 plus VAT a year (£288 including VAT). It's for official correspondence for the company and its directors only. We charge the first year at checkout and will contact you before each renewal.

Refunds

If Companies House rejects a document, we refund what you paid for that document, including the Companies House fee.

You can cancel for a full refund at any time before we send your application to Companies House. Once it's sent, the work is done and the Companies House fee has been paid, so we can't refund it unless Companies House rejects a document.

If you're a consumer, you have 14 days to cancel a service contract. By asking us to start straight away, you agree that we can begin work within that period, and that you lose the right to cancel once we've sent your application.

Your responsibilities

You must:

Companies House may reject an application with wrong details. If that happens because the information you gave us was wrong, we may not be able to refund you.

Our responsibilities

We'll carry out the service with reasonable care and skill. A member of our team checks every application before it goes to Companies House.

We're not responsible for:

Our total liability to you for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Our professional indemnity insurer is QBE, Plantation Place, 30 Fenchurch Street, London, EC3M 3BD.

Your data

We use your details only to provide this service. Our privacy notice explains what we keep and for how long.
